General Terms of Service and Contracting
Last updated: October 2026
Welcome to Viuu (viuu.cat). This document sets forth the terms governing access, navigation, subscription, and usage of the Viuu dynamic calendar technology platform for both organizing entities and subscribers/citizens.
1. Identification of the Platform Provider (Legal Notice)
In compliance with applicable electronic commerce legislation, the Viuu platform (accessible at viuu.cat) is operated by the proprietary team of Viuu Platform. For inquiries or official notices, contact us via our official support email: info@viuu.cat.
2. Purpose of the Service and User Roles
Viuu provides specialized digital infrastructure for real-time generation, automated extraction, publishing, and synchronization of official event calendars. The platform distinguishes two main user profiles:
- Organizers & Creators: Grassroots sports clubs, cultural entities, festival committees, associations, and public institutions creating an account to publish schedules, upload documents/posters, synchronize feeds, and distribute calendars.
- Subscribers & End Users: Citizens, athletes, families, and fans browsing public agendas, downloading .ics files, subscribing via iCalendar feeds (webcal://) to their devices (Apple Calendar, Google Calendar, Outlook), or curating a combined personal feed via "My Viuu".
3. Account Registration, Credential Custody, and Security
Publishing calendars requires creating an account via our secure authentication provider (Supabase Auth). Organizers agree to provide accurate information and bear sole responsibility for safeguarding account credentials. Viuu disclaims liability for damages arising from credential mishandling or negligence on the part of the user.
4. Document Ingestion and Multimodal AI Processing
Viuu provides organizers with multimodal artificial intelligence tools (Google Gemini) that automatically parse official PDF schedules, graphic posters (PNG, JPG, WebP), and federative web links into RFC 5545 structured calendar events:
- Content Rights Warranty: Organizers warrant that they hold all required authorizations, licenses, and intellectual property rights over any files, posters, and assets uploaded to Viuu.
- Supervision & Verification (Diff Preview): AI acts as an extraction assistant to save manual entry time. Viuu provides an interactive diff viewer for organizers to review, edit, and validate event details prior to publication. Organizers retain sole responsibility for approving the accuracy of published events.
- Data Minimization & Privacy: Processed files are used solely to structure the designated calendar and are never utilized to train third-party public AI models.
5. Calendar Synchronization, API Integration, and Server Caching Architecture
To maintain rapid synchronization and peak reliability across public feeds and direct API integrations, the platform operates under the following technical conditions:
Service Account for Google Calendar:
When opting for automated real-time direct synchronization with Google Calendar, the calendar creator/owner must explicitly share the target Google Calendar with Viuu's official Service Account email, granting "Make changes to events" permissions. Without this delegated technical authorization, direct API synchronization cannot push updates, venue changes, or cancellations.
Rate Limits, Quotas, and Server Caching:
Calendar service providers (including Google and external subscription clients) enforce strict query rate limits and API quotas when multiple devices query a public feed concurrently. To prevent downtime, quota exhaustion, or temporary IP throttling by Google, Viuu deploys intelligent server-side and edge caching for event feeds. Subscribers receive optimized updates within these robust technical refresh windows.
Public RFC 5545 iCalendar feeds assign deterministic identifiers (UID) and increment sequence numbers (SEQUENCE) so that location shifts, postponements, or cancellations (STATUS: CANCELLED) update seamlessly on subscriber phones without creating duplicate entries.
6. Service Tiers, Pricing, and Right of Withdrawal
Viuu provides a free Starter tier for community entities as well as upgraded organizational plans (monthly, annual, or single event passes) detailed on our pricing page:
- Commercial Terms: Applicable fees and features are displayed on the pricing page. Billings occur according to the selected schedule (monthly, annual, or per-event).
- Right of Withdrawal (Consumers): Under European consumer protection regulations, consumers possess a 14-day statutory right of withdrawal from contract inception without penalty, unless performance has commenced with explicit prior consent.
- Plan Cancellation: Organizers may cancel recurring plan renewals at any time from their dashboard, retaining active features through the end of the pre-paid billing cycle.
7. Intellectual Property and Content Licensing
All proprietary software, code, designs, algorithms, and branding of Viuu are the exclusive property of Viuu or its licensors. Organizers retain full ownership of their uploaded posters and materials, granting Viuu a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide license strictly to index, format, host, and publicly transmit event feeds during active account tenure.
8. Disclaimer of Liability regarding Events
Viuu acts solely as a technological intermediary and distribution conduit. Organizers bear exclusive responsibility for the accuracy, schedule adherence, and actual execution of planned events. Viuu assumes no liability for weather cancellations, unnotified last-minute changes, match postponements, or consequential travel expenses incurred by attendees.
9. Prohibited Uses and Termination
Users agree not to:
- Publish unlawful, defamatory, hate-inciting, or rights-infringing content.
- Execute denial-of-service (DoS) attacks, abusive web scraping, or deliberate flooding of Viuu or Google APIs.
- Decompile, reverse-engineer, or breach security features of the platform.
- Viuu reserves the right to immediately suspend or terminate accounts that breach these provisions.
10. Technical Availability and Maintenance
Viuu strives for maximum uptime. However, service may experience temporary interruptions for scheduled updates, infrastructure maintenance (Supabase, Google Cloud / Firebase), or force majeure events.
11. Amendments to Terms
Viuu may update these terms to reflect feature improvements or regulatory developments. The current version will always remain published on this page with its respective revision date.
12. Governing Law and Jurisdiction
These terms are governed by the laws of Spain. Any dispute arising in connection with the platform shall be submitted to the courts of Barcelona, without prejudice to mandatory statutory consumer protection jurisdictions or the European Online Dispute Resolution (ODR) platform.
